Those fleeing persecution are waving the flags of the country they claim they need asylum from, and former Immigration and Naturalization Services special agent Michael Cutler is calling their bluff.
"I know the president has been making a big issue with the flags – it is a big issue," Cutler told Newsmax TV's "The Brett Winterble Show" on Monday. "As an agent, you're always trying to figure out who's lying to you and who's telling the truth.
"Those flags are a lie detector."

Cutler added we "don't know who these folks are," but we do know they are seeking asylum from a country they proudly wave the flag of.
"People that seek asylum are fleeing persecution by the regime under which they living," he told Winterble. "Why in the world would you be carrying the banner of a regime you claim has been persecuting you?
"Could you imagine Jews during the Holocaust waving flags with the swastika on it?"
Cutler reminds viewers of Iran and potential Middle East terrorism operations in Latin America that makes an open southern border a national security threat amid this migrant caravan "invasion" of supposed asylum seekers.
He also ripped the lack of funding for border security and Democratic calls for the abolishing of Immigration and Customs Enforcement as sending signals to those seeking to do harm to America.
"Our officials have been telling people around the world, 'the coast is clear, come on in, we'll do nothing to you,'" Cutler said. "Why are we shocked?"
