The "conspirators" behind the ruse that is the Russia investigation are beginning to turn on each other, conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh said Thursday.

During his radio show, Limbaugh brought up the he said-he said saga between former FBI Director James Comey and former CIA Director John Brennan regarding their meeting with President-elect Donald Trump in January 2017 before his inauguration.

"Now, going back to Comey and Brennan, I'll tell you what this is about: Comey says that in 2016, Brennan insisted on including the dossier in their intelligence community assessment, but Brennan says, 'no, no, no,'" Limbaugh said. "Comey wanted to use the dossier.

"So, now they're starting to point fingers at each other, and it's gonna be a perfect time for leverage to be used for them to start ratting each other out."

Limbaugh then laid out his case that one reason why he believes the intelligence community has tried to take down Trump is because Trump balked on daily intelligence briefings from the CIA during his presidential transition.

Comey, Brennan, and others visited Trump at his Trump Tower office in early January 2017 to deliver an intelligence briefing. At the end of the meeting, Comey asked everyone to leave except Trump, at which point he told him of the existence of the infamous Trump dossier and relayed the alleged story to Trump about two prostitutes in a Moscow hotel.

Comey has since claimed he was ordered to deliver just that piece of the dossier, while Brennan said it was Comey's idea.

Limbaugh said the whole story is falling apart at the seams.

"What they did was never anything other than trying to ruin Donald Trump, overturn the election results, and get him thrown out of office," Limbaugh said. "The fact that they're now scurrying around and unable to maintain their original positions is really all you need to know about the falsity and the fallacious aspects of their original contentions."
