A clam bar on Long Island has named a linguini dish after Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease.

Fauci has become one of the most recognizable faces in the government’s fight against coronavirus. And now Peter’s Clam Bar in Island Park, New York,  is offering “Fauci Linguini” to its customers. But it is only available for pickup as a result of social distancing guidelines against dine-in service, The Hill is reporting.

“The linguini with white clam sauce shares origins with Fauci, as the sauce itself was invented in the Fauci Family’s native Sciacca, Italy,” the restaurant said in a statement on Monday.

“Peter’s Clam Bar will also be donating Manhattan and New England Clam Chowder to all hospital workers, nurses, and on the front lines fighting the coronavirus.”

And ABC 7 in New York reported the linguini dish has been flying out of the kitchen since it was introduced.
