Internet executives will reportedly be back on the hot seat on Capitol Hill when they again face a congressional committee investigating Russian election meddling.
According to BuzzFeed News, Facebook, Twitter, and Google honchos will most likely testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee in September.
"I don't know the exact date, but it's that first week," committee chairman Sen. Richard Burr, R-N.C., told BuzzFeed News on Wednesday.
BuzzFeed News reported Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook's chief operating officer, and Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, have both confirmed their attendance, but Google CEO Sundar Pichai has not yet responded to the panel's invite.
The hearing is a follow-up to the panel's hearing in November, when lawmakers grilled lawyers from each firm for how their platform was manipulated by Russian trolls seeking to influence the election.
In April, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg went before the Senate Commerce and Judiciary committees and the House Energy and Commerce Committee to speak on his company's relationship with the now-defunct British political research firm Cambridge Analytica.
