Obama, Netanyahu Discuss Peace in Middle East

President Barack Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have discussed how best to work together to achieve comprehensive peace deal in the Middle East.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs says they talked about making "full use" of substantive indirect talks between the Israelis and Palestinians and moving to direct negotiations between the two sides as soon as possible.

Monday's conversation came as U.S. Mideast envoy George Mitchell returned to the region in anticipation of the first Israeli-Palestinian peace talks in more than a year.
