The GOP complains the major networks have lavished more prime time coverage on the Democratic convention than they they did for the GOP gathering in Cleveland last week.

According to analysis by the Republican National Committee, and released by spokesman Sean Spicer, "the networks from nights [one through three], gave the DNC 13 hours and 21 minutes of coverage, while giving the RNC 9 hours and 47 minutes during the same nights."

"Democrats have been given nearly 40 percent more time during prime time to get their message out," Spicer said in a statement.

The conservative Newsbusters reports CNN played 16 video montages and anti-Donald Trump "featurettes," totaling 47 minutes and 53 minutes of air time during primetime coverage.

"By contrast, CNN only played three of the Republican convention's videos, which added up to 14 minutes and 17 seconds of air time over four nights," Newsbusters ' Matthew Balan wrote.

Mediaite countered "the reason the coverage of the Democratic conventions went longer is because they saved the big speakers like Bernie Sanders and Bill Clinton for the end of the night."
