Romney: 'Haven't Decided Who I'm Gonna Endorse in 2020'

Mitt Romney, the Republican senator-elect from Utah, has yet to decide whether he will support President Donald Trump's re-election campaign in 2020.

Romney was on CNN on Wednesday afternoon to discuss the opinion piece he wrote for The Washington Post in which he criticized Trump and the first two years of his presidency.

"I haven't decided who I'm gonna endorse in 2020," Romney said. "I'm gonna wait and see what the alternatives are."

When host Jake Tapper pointed out other Republicans have already said they will vote for Trump again, Romney would not budge.

"I think it's early to make that decision, and I want to see what the alternatives are," he said. "But I have pointed out there are places where we agree on a whole series of policy fronts. But there are places that I think the president can elevate his game and do a better job to help bring us together as a nation."

Romney was also firm on whether he will run for the White House again. He was the Republican candidate in the 2012 election but lost to President Barack Obama.

"You may have heard I ran before. I've had that experience . . . But no, I'm not running again," Romney said. "And we'll see whether someone else does in a Republican primary or not. But time will tell."
