Although the Biden administration hasn't been shy about publicly slamming billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, space experts contend that the SpaceX founder is "basically beyond government control" when it comes to his ventures in the sky.

After decades as an orbital powerhouse, America's focus on space has waned at the very same time that some of the nation's most potent adversaries are seeking an advantage in the sky.
