Ed Klein: Obama Had 'No Choice' But to Back Hillary, Refuse Prosecution

 ("Fox and Friends"/Fox News)

President Barack Obama did not want Hillary Clinton to become the Democratic nominee because of his "blood feud" with former President Bill Clinton. But eventually, he supported her and backed away from prosecuting her for her use of a private email server when it became clear that he had no other choice, author Ed Klein said Tuesday.

"They really dislike each other, and his feeling was if the Clintons got in the White House, the Obamas would be marginalized," Klein, the author of the new book "Guilty as Sin: Uncovering New Evidence of Corruption and How Hillary Clinton and the Democrats Derailed the FBI Investigation" told Fox News' "Fox and Friends" program.

Obama had secret meetings with both Vice President Joe Biden and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren in hopes of getting them to run against Clinton, but they both refused, Klein continued. Biden backed out after the death of his son, even though he really wanted to run, while Warren did not think it was yet her time.

And, Klein writes in his book, Obama wanted Clinton to be indicted, and gave the order to turn the information about her server over to the FBI.

"That was before he was stuck with her and realized he had to put his full support behind her," Klein said Tuesday, pointing to sources "both inside the White House, inside the Obama administration, inside the Clinton administration, and I have very good sources very close to Valerie Jarrett."

And after it was realized that Biden and Warren weren't going to run, a meeting was held with Obama, first lady Michelle Obama and Jarrett about turning the FBI away from filing charges against Clinton, Klein said in the book.

"What happened there is the attorney general, Loretta Lynch, was telling the public that this was an independent FBI investigation at the same time she was secretly going to the White House with FBI documents and filling in Valerie Jarrett and the president about what was going on so that they could get a strategy to make sure that she, Hillary, would not be indicted," Klein said Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Obama administration had leverage against FBI Director James Comey, Klein said, because of his concern with his own reputation.

"This building that he's in, the FBI Building, is literally falling down," Klein said. "It's crumbling. They are going to tear down that building. It's called the Hoover Building, right? His goal is to have the new building called the James Comey Building."

Klein also said he learned details about Clinton's health that could prove deadly.

"I found out that she has arrhythmia, which is an uncertain heartbeat," Klein said. "She has a leaky valve that the doctors wanted her to replace in a valve replacement surgery, and she said 'No, I'm afraid it would leak out and people would say then I'm not qualified to be president.'"

Klein continued that Clinton has a tendency to get blood clots, so "if she faints because of her low blood pressure and hits her head, she could have a blood clot that could be fatal."
