GOP front-runner Donald Trump Monday lambasted the president's weekend appearance on "60 Minutes," calling it "terrible" because he painted a negative picture of the country and said climate change is the nation's most pressing issue.
"I watched his performance last night and I thought it was terrible," Trump told Fox News'
"Fox and Friends" program. "I thought it was sad because everything's negative. There's nothing positive."
On the program Sunday night, President Obama also
discussed Trump, calling him a "great publicity seeker" who has tapped into party sentiment and saying he doesn't think he'll end up being president of the United States."
But Trump did admit, "in all fairness to him," that Obama couldn't say that Trump will win the White House.
But other than that, he said he thought "it was a little bit sad" because there is so much negative news and Obama said "'what else you got' like he's doing great and he wasn't doing great, he was doing poorly."
Trump also criticized Obama for bringing up climate change, when there are much bigger problems facing the United States, including dealing with ISIS, immigration, and unemployment.
He also complained about a weekend report that a military official, Lt. Col. Mark Visger, has decided that a civilian system should handle the
Bowe Bergdahl desertion case, which would limit the maximum punishment reduction of rank, a bad conduct discharge and a short jail term, even though he does not believe that should be sought.
"In the old days when we were strong and smart and had a country that really was respected all over the world, you would execute a person like that," Trump said of Bergdahl. "He's a traitor. He left, six people were killed looking for him...they were killed, all killed."
