Donald Trump Jr. mocked Michael Avenatti in a tweet on Monday after the lawyer was charged with wire and bank fraud and accused of trying to extort Nike.

"Hey @MichaelAvenatti - It looks like you'll be the one spending time behind bars after all. #basta."

Avenatti rose to national attention representing adult film star Stormy Daniels in her lawsuit against President Donald Trump and repeatedly said that Trump Jr. would go to jail due to findings in the Mueller investigation, according to Newsweek.

Trump Jr. rubbed it in further with another barb on Twitter.

“Good news for my friend @MichaelAvenatti, if you plead fast enough, you might just get to share a cell with Michael Cohen! #basta,” he wrote.

Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison for, among other crimes, arranging hush-money payments during the presidential election to women who claimed to have had affairs with Trump.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham also turned to Twitter to show her happiness over the turn of events.

“It’s Lent but it feels like Christmas,” Ingraham tweeted. “Avenatti charged. Trump cleared.”
