The moderators of Thursday's main debate on Fox News Channel say they have two sets of questions prepared — one for a debate without front-runner Donald Trump, and one for a debate with Trump.

They admit they don't expect Trump to show up — he has booked a rival event three miles away — but they didn't want to be unprepared if he pulls a surprise.

"We literally have done two debate preps," Megyn Kelly said on "Special Report" "If he shows up, he'll be there right in the center of the stage as the front-runner."

It was Trump's feud with Kelly over questions she asked in the first Fox debate that Trump has partially blamed for skipping Thursday's event.

Moderator Bret Baier said the situation is "just weird."

Moderator Chris Wallace said the double preparations are harder on the producers than the moderators because he, Kelly and Baier were fine with ad libbing if needed.

But the producers have a full list of the questions to be asked and work to give each candidate equal time, Wallace said.
