Democrats in the House plan on issuing subpoenas that would target dozens of topics related to President Donald Trump and his administration, Axios reports.
Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., who is set to take over as chair of the House Intelligence Committee, told “Axios on HBO” on Sunday that the fight for documents and testimony from Trump and his associates could reach the Supreme Court.
Axios’ Zach Basu created a list of 85 topics that Democrats expect to target with subpoenas, including Trump’s tax returns, his family businesses, his relationship with Russia and President Vladimir Putin, and a number of policy decisions like family separation and the travel ban.
Schiff also said on Sunday that he’d like to investigate Trump’s treatment of the press, CNN and The Washington Post in particular, saying he wants to determine if the president used “the instruments of state power to punish the press.”
Rep. Nita Lowey, D-N.Y., said in an interview with “Axios on HBO” that she’s interested in probing Trump’s creating the Space Force, among other topics.
