The estate of Peter Smith has turned over a trove of materials to Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee related to the longtime Republican operative and donor's work with Russian hackers to retrieve deleted emails from a private server used by Hillary Clinton, ABC News reports.

Smith, who committed suicide last May, listed White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, former White House representative to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Sam Clovis and former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn in a recruitment document for his effort.

Smith before his death implied Flynn was aware of his efforts, which marked the first potential evidence of coordination between members of the Trump campaign and Russian hackers, a central issue in the House probe. But he also told The Wall Street Journal he was not operating on behalf of the Trump campaign.

Republicans moved to end the committee's probe in March, but House Intelligence Committee ranking member Adam Schiff, D-Calif., has continued to work. Schiff requested the documents from Smith's estate.
