IHME Model Continues to Lower US Death Estimates

Since the first confirmed U.S. coronavirus infection was reported in Washington state on January 21, the University of Washington's Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) has constantly updated its models to show what's likely to happen next.

One consistent trend: Over time, the model's projected U.S. death total has dropped down, down, down.
