Roughly two weeks after Secretary of State John Kerry broke his femur in a bike crash, another member of President Barack Obama's cabinet has been sidelined thanks to a fall from a bike.

Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker was on a bike ride with her husband in Michigan over the weekend when she ran over some gravel and crashed, according to The Wall Street Journal. Pritzker is now on crutches after bruising her left hip, although she reportedly did not break any bones.

A triathlete, Pritzker is training for a triathlon next month. She was also scheduled to travel to Brazil this week to attend a business forum, but her two-wheeled mishap will keep her in the U.S. as she recovers.

The Journal reports Deputy Secretary of Commerce Bruce Andrews will instead travel to Brazil to represent the Obama administration.

Pritzker was apparently in the office Monday and is working, but a long trip to Brazil would not have been feasible with her injuries.

On May 31, Kerry was out on a bike ride during a trip to Switzerland for the Iran nuclear talks when he collided with a curb and crashed hard, breaking his right femur.

Kerry often brings his bike when he travels and rode several times during the months-long negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program. He has also participated in several charity bike rides in the U.S.

Another celebrity, U2 frontman Bono, was in a bad bike crash during a ride through Central Park last fall.
