“Cuomo Prime Time” has become CNN’s most watched show, Variety is reporting.
The show attracted 1,288,000 viewers to its 9 p.m. time slot last month. It beat out Cuomo’s colleague Anderson Cooper’s 8 p.m. program.
However, it still lagged behind Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News, which pulled in over 3 million viewers at 9 p.m. and Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC show attracted 2.9 million viewers.
Still, Cuomo’s overall viewership in November was up 25 percent compared to last year, according to Variety.
Cuomo is not focused on beating his rivals, said Melanie Buck, the show’s executive producer.
“Those shows have been on for a number of years, and as Chris likes to say, people retreat to their corners in partisan times,” she said.
“We are not telling people one side what they want to hear.”
The Hill noted Cuomo had co-anchored CNN’s morning program “New Day” after he came over from ABC News in 2013. His prime-time show as launched in June.
