Carly Fiorina: Obama Acting Political on ISIS, Not Like a Leader

(Fox News/"Fox & Friends")

President Barack Obama only knows politics, not leadership, GOP candidate Carly Fiorina said Thursday, calling it "absurd" that he continues to back the national refugee program "where we know that we cannot adequately certify who these people are."

"The vast majority of the American people have the common sense and good judgment to know that we have to stop this program until our own government can assure us that we know who these people are and that they do not pose a threat," the former Hewlett-Packard CEO told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" show.

"Our own government cannot do that today."

There are women and children engaged in the crisis, she acknowledged, but "we now know, of course, that women also can be a danger, and it remains the case that the majority of these refugees are young, able-bodied men looking for work. We know now in the Paris attack that a terrorist slipped in through the stream of refugees."

Further, Fiorina said that the FBI has also said it is "overwhelmed" by trying to follow the leads for potential lone wolves, "or worse, packs of wolves already here in this country."

She also reacted to the news about Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton's plans to reveal her strategy for combatting the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq and her national security proposals during a speech at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York on Thursday.

The plan includes defeating ISIS in Syrian and Iraq, dismantling the growing terrorist infrastructure, and to harden American defenses.

"It sounds great, doesn't it?" she said. "Sort of like Barack Obama, say all the right things. Unfortunately, she's done all the wrong things. She declared victory in Iraq, and withdrew precipitously for political expediency, instead of listening to our generals on the ground.

"And this administration, whether it's in Libya, after the Benghazi terrorist attack which she called a videotape that didn't represent our values, or whether it's Syria or whether it's Iraq, this administration has done all the wrong things."

Appearing later on Fox News Channel's "On the Record with Greta Van Susteren," Fiorina said Obama should be leading the fight against terrorism rather than going after Republicans who disagree with his policies, said GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina.

"How unbelievable it is that he is sitting in the Philippines castigating Republicans instead of standing up and leading when we need leadership," Fiorina said "He is delusional about the strengths of Iran and the strength of ISIS. It's an easy shot to talk about Republicans."

Obama has criticized Republicans, saying they are afraid of orphans and widows in wanting to keep out refugees.

"Specifically, what we need to do is understand that ISIS is an evil that is waging war against us and so we have to wage war against them and win. It's that simple and that clear," she said.

"Politics is what gets his passion up, not leading, not being commander and chief, she said.
