House Speaker John Boehner lashed out at President Barack Obama for his rhetoric on the middle class, charging that “the President has never created a job” and that Obama has “never even had a real job for Christ's sake,” according to ABC News.
The Ohio Republican criticized Obama during an interview with Fox News Radio's Kilmeade & Friends.
"Sometimes I have to catch my breath and slow down because the rhetoric in this campaign is just so over the top,” Boehner said, according to ABC News. “And that's because the President's policies have failed. Listen — 93% of Americans believe they're a part of the middle class. That's why you hear the President talk about the middle class every day, because he's talking to 93% of the American people. But the President has never created a job. He's never even had a real job for Christ's sake. And I can tell you from my dealings with him, he has no idea how the real world, that we actually live in, works.”
Boehner also had some tough words for Democrats at a Capitol Hill press conference on Thursday, saying that “scared” Democrats are hoping the public doesn’t notice that they “have no plan”
“Washington Democrats are scared,” Boehner said, according to ABC News.
“They’re hiding, desperately hoping to get through the fall election without anyone noticing that when it comes [to] Americans’ future, they have no plan.”
“Republicans have been advancing real solutions on behalf of the American people, and we’re only ones who have addressed the tax hikes that threaten our economy and the defense cuts that threaten our national security,” the Speaker said. “I think the American people, mark my words, are paying attention, and I think they’ll remember.”
