Americans in Iran Can Be Free on $500,000 Bail Each, Lawyer Says

Sept. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Two U.S. citizens sentenced to eight years in prison in Iran for spying and illegal entry can be freed on $500,000 bail each, their lawyer, Masoud Shafiei, said today. Shafiei said he was informed of the arrangements today by the court. Josh Fattal and Shane Bauer were sentenced Aug. 21. They were detained in July 2009 entering Iran. They said they had mistakenly wandered across the border during a hiking trip in neighboring Iraq.
