Retired U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Blaine Holt, in an interview with Newsmax, ripped into President Joe Biden's administration for attempting to show how states benefit financially from Ukraine aid.
His comments came in a Friday interview on "Wake Up America." Politico, citing a graphic the administration has made available to the public, reported that battleground states like Pennsylvania and Arizona are getting billions of dollars from Washington's efforts to arm Ukraine.
The circulation of the graphic is part of the administration's sales pitch to the American public — and their congressional representatives — on Biden's proposal to spend billions of additional taxpayer money on the wars in Ukraine and Israel.
"That's repulsive and disgusting," Holt said. "What we don't do is we try to make money off of war, although we do. And what have we got for $110 billion? No progress and probably the fall of the Ukrainian government before too long.
"This is horrible. And again, that tact in information is reprehensible."
Regarding Israel's war with Hamas, he noted that another cease-fire is possible.
"Yeah, it's possible that we would see a resumption," he said. "But there is going to have to be some serious deal-making.
"This was a deal that wasn't going to get to a good place anyway, because the goal of Israel is very clear: it's to eliminate Hamas. You know, there are folks in this world buying into the propaganda, and the information campaign, and they can wish for the war that they want. But what they had better do is put on reality goggles and see what's actually happening in front of their faces because right now, this hostage situation is rapidly morphing into a rescue operation, and the United States would do well to support those efforts."
