Bin Laden: Kill Obama, Not Biden — He's 'Utterly Unprepared'

Terrorist kingpin Osama bin Laden wrote in his final letters before being killed a year ago that his minions should take down President Barack Obama’s plane when he was in the region so that an 'utterly unprepared' Vice President Joe Biden would take over the White House.

The al-Qaida leader also sought the assassination of Gen. David Petraeus, who then commanded U.S. forces in Afghanistan. The U.S. Army's Combating Terrorism Center released bin Laden’s letters Thursday.

In one of the missives, bin Laden wrote that the idea was to "anticipate and spot the visits of Obama or Petraeus to Afghanistan or Pakistan to target the aircraft of either one of them."

He said Biden, then-Defense Secretary Robert Gates, then-Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Michael Mullen, and then-Special Envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Holbrooke shouldn’t be targeted.

“The reason for concentrating on them [Obama and Petraeus] is that Obama is the head of infidelity and killing him automatically will make Biden take over the presidency for the remainder of the term, as it is the norm over there,” bin Laden wrote. “Biden is totally unprepared for that post, which will lead the U.S. into a crisis. As for Petraeus, he is the man of the hour in this last year of the war, and killing him would alter the war's path.”
