Ann Romney: My Cause as First Lady Would Be At-Risk Kids

Friday, 31 August 2012 08:33 AM EDT

The wife of Republican Mitt Romney says if she becomes first lady, she hopes to work with at-risk youth.

Ann Romney spoke on a round of morning talk shows after her husband addressed the Republican National Convention Thursday night.

She believes women voters in particular will come to support Mitt Romney, casting November as an economic election and a vote for the future for their children.

She says she previously spent many years working with troubled children, and one of her top concerns would be making sure that every child lives to his fullest potential.

Romney also says she was touched by speakers who offered testimonials about her husband. She says it was a lens through which she also sees her husband.
