New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo will agree to President Donald Trump’s demand that federal authorities have access to the state DMV database, in order to try to call Trump’s bluff, CNN reports.

Cuomo is set to meet with Trump on Thursday, where he will offer to grant federal authorities access on a case-by-case basis specifically for people who apply for the Trusted Traveler Program.

In an interview with LI News Radio host Jay Oliver, Cuomo called Trump’s demand “pure politics,” saying, "I will give them the DMV database for Trusted Traveler. These are people who go for an in person federal interview with all sorts of background information."

Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf previously said that allowing federal authorizes to access the DMV database is the only way that New York residents can regain their access to Global Entry and similar Trusted Traveler programs. This came in response to the state’s recent “Green Light Law” that allows undocumented immigrants to apply for diver’s licenses without their information getting to immigration enforcement agencies.

In a separate interview on another program, Cuomo added, "I'm calling their bluff by saying, you said you want access to the DMV database for TTP? I'll give it to you."

He went on to say, "I don't believe that's what they want. I believe they just want political noise because they really want to make their argument about immigration."
