“Today” show weatherman Al Roker says climate change is responsible for the increase in tornadoes in the United States.
“Our climate change is such now that we are seeing this kind of weather not just in rural parts of our country, but in urban centers as well,”
Roker said on MSNBC’s “Martin Bashir Show.”
Roker reported live from the devastation left by tornadoes in Joplin, Mo.
He also cited recent tornadoes in Philadelphia and Minneapolis.
The veteran weatherman estimated that the Joplin twisters were “at the top of the Fujita Scale,” which measures the intensity or tornadoes.
