"Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek shared more good news about his battle against stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
Speaking at the NHL Awards in Las Vegas on Wednesday night, the 78-year-old said his numbers were improving and he was feeling "very positive" about the outcome, The Daily Mail reported.
“'I'm feeling pretty good,” he said at the event. ‘I have good days, and a few days after chemo that kind of lay me low for a little bit, but overall I'm improving,”
And then he added the best news: “My numbers are improving and I'm very positive about the outcome,
Trebek first opened up about his cancer diagnoses in March via a heartfelt video in which he said that, while the prognosis for stage 4 pancreatic cancer was "not very encouraging," he intended to fight it every step of the way. "And with the love and support of my family and friends and with the help of your prayers also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease," he vowed.
It was not even three months later that Trebek shocked fans with news that his cancer was in near-remission.
"The doctors said they hadn’t seen this kind of positive result in their memory…some of the tumors have already shrunk by more than 50 percent," he told People at the time
Trebek has been undergoing chemotherapy in recent months and admitted to "Good Morning America" that he experienced "surges of deep, deep sadness that brings tears to my eyes." However, despite the momentary lows, Trebek has managed to remain upbeat and positive.
Trebek will still have to undergo several more rounds of chemotherapy but he is feeling positive about the outlook.
