Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, has hired Daniel Goldman, a former assistant United States attorney in the Southern District of New York, to lead the panel’s investigation of the Trump administration, The Hill is reporting.
The website said Goldman joined the committee staff as director of investigations in February. During his time at the southern district, which ended in 2017, he directed prosecutions against more than 30 defendants involved in Russian organization crime, according to The Hill.
Schiff welcomed others hired to the staff on Tuesday, as well.
"I look forward to working with them to perform important oversight and investigative work to ensure the security of our country and its institutions."
President Donald Trump ripped into the Schiff panel’s investigation, as well as other House probes of his administration, calling them”presidential harassment.”
