President Donald Trump continues to doubt polls showing he is behind in several states, saying that polls show that he's winning "everywhere."
The president first pushed back when ABC News' George Stephanopoulos told him, in an interview airing on Thursday's "Good Morning America," that he was behind in 15 out of 17 state polls, while conducting part of his wide-ranging interview in the back of the presidential limousine.
"Nobody showed you those polls because those polls don't exist," Trump told him. "Those polls don't exist. I'm losing in 15 out of 17 states? Those polls don't exist. I just was given a meeting with my pollster, I frankly don't even believe in pollsters, if you want to know the truth. You just run a campaign and whatever it is, it is. But I just had a meeting with someone that's a pollster, and I'm winning everywhere."
He then asked that the cameras be turned off so he could call his campaign manager Brad Parscale. Stephanopoulos said they picked up the interview the next day when Stephanopoulos asked him why the polls "bother you so much?"
"Ultimately, it doesn't matter," Trump told him. "Because it's untrue. I like the truth. You know, I'm actually a very honest guy.
Trump's comments come as he has accused news outlets of using fake polling against his campaign.
"The Fake News has never been more dishonest than it is today," he tweeted on Wednesday. "Thank goodness we can fight back on Social Media. Their new weapon of choice is Fake Polling, sometimes referred to as Suppression Polls (they suppress the numbers)."
