11 Winter Storm Stella Photos: Northeast Digs Out From Slushy, Icy Mess

11 Winter Storm Stella Photos: Northeast Digs Out From Slushy, Icy Mess

By    |   Wednesday, 15 March 2017 08:18 AM EDT

Winter Storm Stella hit the Northeast on Tuesday, but the blizzard that was expected to wallop the region with up to two feet of snow turned out to be a slushy bust in most areas.

The tri-state area seemingly dodged the worst of the storm, with New York and New Jersey ending up more of an icy, slushy mess.

The Nor'easter did pack the promised punch in some regions, though. According to Weather.com, Stella dumped 31.2 inches of snow in Binghamton, New York, as of midnight Wednesday, making it the heaviest snowstorm on record for the city.
