President Donald Trump accepted French President Emmanuel Macron's invitation to attend the country's Bastille Day festivities over the weekend, and all eyes were on every interaction, conversation, and handshake between the two leaders.
Dubbed by some as "the battle of the Alphas," Trump and Macron again shared some uncomfortably long greetings.
But despite the power plays, the visit did serve to strengthen the relationship between the two men.
“Our countries are friends, so we should be too,” Macron said in an interview Sunday in the Journal du dimanche newspaper, according to The Associated Press.
