1. Obama Gets Five and Dime TV Time

Barack Obama’s campaign is swimming in cash.

There are serious questions, though, about the legality of some of Obama’s donors, and Newsmax is taking the lead in the investigation.

Meanwhile, a couple of television networks have decided to give a boost to Obama’s campaign by providing an extraordinary discount for the airing of a primetime infomercial.

According to Obama campaign sources, the first 30 minutes of the primo primetime CBS and NBC hours has been purchased for the ad.

The Democratic candidate’s TV spot is scheduled to air on Oct. 29, a mere six days before the election.

The date was no arbitrary pick either. Oct. 29 (aka “Black Tuesday”) is the infamous date of the 1929 stock market crash.

The amount of money the two networks are reportedly charging for the otherwise lucrative airtime is less than $1 million.

Here’s the lowdown: The Obama campaign is being charged the lowest possible rate the networks can offer without violating the law. It’s called the “lowest unit cost.”

Do you suppose CBS and NBC are going to extend the same offer to the McCain campaign?

Maybe, if McCain agrees to sit down with, and give editing rights to, Katie Couric and Keith Olbermann.

2. Michael Douglas’ ‘Wall Street’ Advice

Michael Douglas is no biz whiz, but he played one in the movies.

That was apparently enough for reporters to seek his sage stage advice on the financial crisis that’s gripping today’s headlines.

Douglas starred in the 1987 Oliver Stone film, “Wall Street,” a role for which he was awarded an Oscar for Best Actor. Gordon Gekko was the character he portrayed in the flick. Gekko was a corporate takeover artist best known for his catchphrase, “Greed is good.”

While recently engaged in a press conference to promote the idea of a new treaty to ban the testing of nuclear weapons, Douglas was asked, “Are you saying, Gordon, that greed is not good?”

“I'm not saying that,” the actor replied. “And my name is not Gordon. He's a character I played 20 years ago.”

Douglas was quick to straighten out the issues of his real name and the big-screen time frame, but interestingly, still up in the air is whether or not greed is good.

3. ABC Refuses to Air Ad on Obama's Pro-abort Record

Has ABC rejected an ad because it exposes one of Barack Obama’s weaknesses?

An advertisement from the National Right to Life (NRL) political action committee was denied an airing on the ABC Radio Network.

The ad dealt with Obama’s voting record on abortion and life.

Highlighted in the ad are some of the misrepresentations that Obama has uttered about his voting record when he served in the Illinois Legislature.

He voted against bills that would have obliged doctors to give medical care to sustain the lives of babies who survived botched abortions. He claims that he didn’t support the state bill but would have supported the federal version.

The NRL ad exposes the fact that the state bill, which Obama voted against, was virtually identical to the federal act that he claims he would have supported. FactCheck.org and PolitiFact.com have verified this fact.

NRL had intended to air the ad during Sean Hannity’s radio show. However, NRL received an e-mail from the ABC Radio Network in which the network refused to air the ad claiming that the content was objectionable because although it supported “aspects of a Pro-Life position,” it weighed “more heavily toward electioneering.”

Under the law, the NRL political action committee is allowed to engage in electioneering.

ABC claiming that it was rejecting an advertisement from a political action committee because it was too political is like Barney Frank claiming that his former escort service-running roommate was really just into speed dating.

4. Homer Simpson to Endorse Obama

Barack Obama is set to receive an endorsement — sort of.

The support will reportedly come from iconic cartoon character Homer Simpson.

In an upcoming episode of the Fox animated series, which is scheduled to be aired two days prior to the election, Bart’s dad will explain his support for the Democratic candidate.

“Obama cares about people like me,” Homer declares. “I haven’t been blessed with intelligence, a strong work-ethic, or sound moral judgment. But I have needs. An Obama administration will make it easier for guys like me to get what we need.”

Homer attempts to vote using an electronic voting machine.

“It's time for a change,” he says as he repeatedly pushes the Obama button on the machine. But instead of votes for Obama, the machine indicates half a dozen votes for John McCain.

Ultimately the voting machine devours Homer whole, while he screams, “This can't happen in America.”

If McCain wins the election, don’t be surprised if Democrats use the “machine ate my hubby” excuse to launch a lawsuit.

Editor's Note:

5. Obama Should Distance Himself From Hollywood Hatemongers

Requests have been pouring in from the mainstream media and liberal politicians for John McCain and Sarah Palin to apologize and distance themselves from so-called divisive and intolerant comments made by rally attendees.

Referring to the words as “alarms,” The New York Times via Frank Rich cited
the following: “The raucous and insistent cries of ‘Treason!’ and ‘Terrorist!’ and
‘Kill him!’ and ‘Off with his head!’ as well as the uninhibited slinging of racial epithets . . .

“Doing nothing is not an option,” Rich wrote.

Georgia Rep. John Lewis issued a statement in which he characterized the McCain-Palin campaign as having a “negative tone” and stated that McCain and Palin were “playing with fire” and “sowing the seeds of hatred and division.”

“During another period, in the not too distant past, there was a governor of the state of Alabama named George Wallace who also became a presidential candidate,” Lewis informed.

He wrote that Wallace “created the climate and the conditions that encouraged vicious attacks against innocent Americans . . .” and that “because of this atmosphere of hate, four little girls were killed on Sunday morning when a church was bombed in Birmingham, Alabama.”

Lewis later claimed that the statement was not comparing the GOP candidates to Wallace.

The Washington Post via columnist Khaled Hosseini used similar language in a piece titled “McCain and Palin Are Playing With Fire.” Hosseini decried the use by speakers at McCain-Palin rallies of Obama’s middle name, Hussein.

Former Democratic candidate John Kerry joined in, writing about “ugliness at the campaign rallies of John McCain and Sarah Palin.”

Referring to the “insults and racial epithets” at the rallies, Kerry wrote, “I strongly condemn language like this, which can only be described as hate-filled.”

Meanwhile the Obama campaign said and did nothing as the following occurred:

  • Sandra Bernhard said that if Palin came to New York, she would be “gang raped” by Bernhard’s African-American male friends and also called Cindy McCain a “Barbie doll hooker.”

  • Pamela Anderson said, “I can't stand her” and “she can s*** it.”

  • After telling thousands of fans, “You know who can get off of my street? Sarah Palin,” Madonna led fans in the following chant: “I'm gonna kick her a** if she don't get off of my street!” She later shouted, “This is the sound of Sarah Palin's husband's snowmobile when it won't start up in the wintertime” while letting loose with loud dissonant guitar feedback.

  • Cybill Shepherd called Palin an “American catastrophe.”

  • Betty White labeled her “one crazy b****.”

When these big-name celebrity Obama supporters hurl their hate, it gets picked up, repeated, and amplified by the mainstream press.

It’s time for Obama to apologize for the hate speech of his Hollywood pals, and while he’s at it, he might also call off his biased buds in the media.
