The makers of a natural iron supplement have issued a recall of the product because it may contain an antihistamine that can cause serious side effects in some people.

Taking meclizine in the doses recommended for iron supplements may cause serious side effects in people who drink alcohol or take other sedatives, as well as those with a pre-existing central nervous system disorder, kidney or liver problems, the elderly, nursing infants of lactating mothers, and newborns of mothers given the drug immediately before childbirth.
The manufacturers recommend that anyone who purchased the product not use it.
