Mariah Carey’s Husband Due Home After Kidney Illness

Friday, 06 January 2012 10:33 PM EST

Nick Cannon, husband of singer Mariah Carey, was hospitalized for “mild kidney failure,” according to Carey. He’s due to be released from the hospital this weekend, Carey said on Friday.

“Please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful,” Carey posted on her website this week.

Cannon, 31, the host of “America’s Got Talent,” fell ill while the couple and their children were vacationing in Aspen, Colorado. He was transferred to a hospital in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Carey, 41, married Cannon four years ago, and gave birth to twins last year.
