Buying foods that contain zero genetically modified organisms, or GMOs, is at times challenging and pricey, but can be worth the extra time and expense. It's important to seek out labels on foods such as "Certified Organic" and "USDA Organic" to ensure a GMO-free experience.
In addition, large grocery chains such as Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Safeway, Walmart, and Giant Foods, among others, have developed their own store-labelled "organic" brands, which can offer a less-expensive way to eat organic foods.
It's important to note that products affixed with the USDA Organic symbol won't intentionally contain GMOs, but it's not an iron-clad guarantee. In some cases, a third-party plant may have been employed, which could taint the product.
