You may be exercising regularly but failing to get rid of stubborn belly fat. Cortisol may be a hidden reason for this. The accumulation may be caused by higher secretion of cortisol that creates stubborn belly fat. Cortisol is very essential in this respect. Under constant mental and physical stress, the body secretes cortisol, which may be counterproductive as it holds onto fat around the body’s midsection. This affects metabolic processes inside the body and causes stubborn belly fat. In normal circumstances, cortisol production is for a short period but its continuing production for a long time may result in stubborn belly fat.
Get enough sleep. Sleeping is an important daily requirement of the body. Adequate sleep helps minimize the body’s stress level and balances cortisol production. It burns up stubborn belly fat and optimizes health. The body utilizes fat during sleep, which makes getting sound sleep healthier for the body. Sleeping in complete darkness is advised. If one is finding it hard to fall asleep, reading books may help. Another way is to avoid keeping electronic equipment such as a computer, television, and various wireless communication devices in the bedroom. Deep sleep provides complete rest to the body and helps reduce stubborn belly fat.
Drink caffeine. Caffeine enhances the production of cortisol but it acts as a stimulant for boosting energy in the body. A cup of coffee can help you. You can also take green tea as it contains one-fourth of the caffeine present in normal coffee. This helps in fighting fatigue and in rising early, which are both widespread symptoms of fat storage caused by cortisol.
Eat more protein. People who exercise regularly should consume a high amount of proteins. This helps repair the lean muscles damaged by cortisol and provides the required energy by burning stubborn belly fat. Protein can be obtained from foods like eggs, fish, etc. Consumption of protein lessens the craving for fatty and sugary snacks that cause stubborn belly fat. Use vitamin C to counter cortisol spikes.
Drink water and reduce salt intake. Drinking plenty of water is a good way to lose stubborn belly fat. This helps in reducing overall fat and makes a stubborn belly flat. With lower water retention in the body, the stomach starts feeling less bloated and stubborn belly fat is gradually reduced. Drink more water and reduce the intake of salt in the diet. This makes the kidneys secrete and flush out more water. One to two gallons of water must be consumed daily. Dehydration causes water retention and causes extra fat to be stored in the abdomen.
