The makers of a popular whole-grain cereal are recalling the product because it may contain undeclared almonds that could cause life-threatening reactions in people with allergies, the Food and Drug Administration announced.
Food For Life Baking Company is recalling lots of its Ezekiel 4:9 Sprouted Grain Cereal shipped between November 20 and February 11 of this year because the product may be mislabeled and may contain almonds.
The recalled products include the Ezekiel 4:9 Cereal Original, Golden Flax, and Cinnamon Raisin varieties with UPC codes 073472002550, 073472002568, and 073472002574.
The recalled products were sold nationwide through health food distributors and natural food retailers in dry, 16-ounce boxes.
No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date.
Consumers who bought the products can return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
