Masked hypertension is a risky clinical condition equivalent to the risk of extremely high blood pressure. In normal conditions, any severe hypertension can be detected using the blood pressure level. However, in case a patient suffers from masked hypertension or MH, the blood pressure actually remains equivalent to the high blood pressure level in a hypertensive condition but the BP level in normal office measurements appears normal at 140/90mm. A rich diet constituting of vitamin C, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and soluble fibers is essential. Fruits and vegetables are most preferred diet for MH patients. Whole diets cereals, whole-meal bread, oatmeal, etc. are recommended for patients. Any diet that includes salmon or other fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids is beneficial for controlling high blood pressure.
 
There are also some restrictions in the diet for patients suffering from MH. The restricted diets include fried and processed foods, along with diets with high sodium chloride constituents like salt, caffeine etc.
 
Including exercise and meditation in the lifestyle helps in reducing the high blood pressure and thus protects the patient with masked hypertension from any fatal situations. A healthy lifestyle in normal conditions can control the blood pressure level.

These steps can prevent the risk caused by high blood pressure and ensure the safety of any patient with masked hypertension.
