Keep Sleep Diary to Cure Insomnia

One way to help you and your doctor find out what might be contributing to your sleep problems is to keep a sleep diary.

If you are noticing difficulties in falling asleep or staying asleep, you might want to keep track of things that might be causing your insomnia.

You can include information such as:

• Time you went to bed

• Time you woke up

• Number awakenings during the night

• Total hours sleep

• Amount of caffeine and time it was consumed

• Amount of alcohol and time it was consumed

• Other foods and beverages and times consumed

• Stressful events of the day

• Medicines or supplements taken
