For Better Sex, Try Talking

Erika Schwartz, M.D By Wednesday, 18 October 2017 03:12 PM EDT Current | Bio | Archive

Now that the kids are out of the house, you don’t have to worry about having sex on the run or only when they are asleep.

You have the house to yourself and you can spend as much time as you want having sex.

But to have sex you must communicate, achieve hormonal balance, and commit to rekindling romance in your life.

Relationships are saved when both partners are taking hormones; as they feel better they start communicating about sexuality and their personal feelings about it.

Keeping an active sex life as we age goes hand in hand with having the right hormones in the proper balance in our bodies.

And that applies to men and women. Hormones in balance eliminate a huge stumbling block in getting women and men over 50 back into having great sex again.

When you are free of children and concern over getting pregnant, you are at liberty to express your love and intimacy toward each other.

This can heighten the sexual experience, and I see many patients who tell me they have more sex now in their 50s than all the sex they had in their 30s and 40s.
