In a study of 209 breast cancer patients and 209 healthy controls, the use of aluminum-containing underarm antiperspirant products was associated with the risk of breast cancer.

As reported on EBioMedicine, researchers found a nearly four-fold risk increase in women who used underarm products containing aluminum.

Interestingly, aluminum in breast tissues was found in both breast cancer patients and controls.

But the concentration in breast cancer patients, compared to controls, was significantly higher. The authors concluded, “Frequent use of [aluminum-containing underarm products] may lead to an accumulation of aluminum in breast tissue. More than daily use of [aluminum-containing underarm products] at younger ages may increase the risk of breast cancer.”

Although there are multiple causes of breast cancer, tumors have been occurring in the upper outer quadrant of the breasts at increasing rates. This would point to a problem with the underarm area.

It is well-known that aluminum-containing underarm products can result in higher aluminum concentrations in breast tissue, as it is easily absorbed from the underarm area.

Aluminum is a well-known neurotoxin and DNA disrupter that has been associated with a host of serious illnesses, including Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and dementia.

The FDA should prohibit the use of aluminum-containing antiperspirants. But as I’ve pointed out many times before, it’s not wise to wait for the FDA to act.

My advice is never to use any product that contains aluminum. It’s not worth the risk.
