Survey: US Gasoline Prices Jump 21 Cents a Gallon in 2 Weeks

The average price of a regular gallon of gas has jumped 21 cents in the past two weeks to $2.54.

Industry analyst Trilby Lundberg said Sunday that the price is still 97 cents per gallon less than a year ago.

Los Angeles had the highest-price gas in the lower 48 cities surveyed, at $3.48. California saw prices jump a whopping 57 cents.

The low national average was in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at $2.16.

The average national price for midgrade gas is $2.74. For premium, it's $2.90.

Diesel stands at $3.02, up eight cents.
