The dollar rose against the euro on Friday as investors bought dollars on news that the U.S. government is considering a comprehensive plan to deal with toxic bank assets choking the financial system.
The euro fell more than 1 cent or 0.7 percent from late New York trade to $1.4245.
The dollar climbed 0.7 percent against the yen to 106.15 yen.
