Rep. Dan Burton Beats 6 Challengers

U.S. Rep. Dan Burton beat 6 candidates to win the Republican nomination to seek the 5th Congressional seat in Indiana, according to The Associated Press.

Burton was among seven candidates running for the GOP nomination who
spent the day criss-crossing the 11 counties that make up the district this
afternoon, trying to reach as many voters as possible.

In the end, Burton, the seat's 28-year incumbent, came out on top. He voted at his polling place in Lawrence and stuck around to greet voters.

“You know, a lot of them (voters) are very friendly and a lot of them aren't,” Burton said. “I think there's a lot of disenchantment with Washington in general, and there's no question there's an awful lot of people out there who are just saying, 'My Gosh. Lets' blame them all and throw them all out.”
