Barclays Plc is being sued by the New York State Attorney General over fraud allegations related to the marketing and operation of its dark pool, a person familiar with the matter said.

Barclays runs one of Wall Street’s largest dark pools, an alternative trading venue where investors can trade mostly anonymously.

Mark Lane, a spokesman for Barclays, declined to comment.
