If Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Janet Yellen is chosen as the next Fed chairman she may show a harder edge inside the central bank than current Chairman Ben Bernanke does, according to
The Wall Street Journal.
Many Fed staffers have great respect for Yellen, but some others don't have such positive views after clashing with her in their jobs, according to The Journal's interviews of more than a dozen current and former staff members and officials who worked with her in recent years.
Many senior Fed officials, including ones who disagreed with her on major policy issues, say she would be an agreeable leader of the central bank.

"She listens to all sides of a debate," Jeffrey Lacker, president of the Richmond Fed, told The Journal. He wants the Fed to stop its quantitative easing, while Yellen is one of its strongest proponents.
But Dick Anderson, who briefly served as the Fed board's chief operating officer, disagrees. "Yellen's abrasive, intimidating style is probably more suited for a 'Mad Men' era as opposed to a modern office environment," he told The Journal.
Star investor Jim Rogers, chairman of Rogers Holdings, said it doesn't matter whether President Obama names Yellen or someone else as Fed chairman. "This is all a farce. They're all of the same ilk,"
Rogers told Yahoo.
"You think they're going to put anyone in there who would make a difference? They're all just lapdogs for the establishment."
