Mitt Romney wound up his Iowa campaign Tuesday with a final appearance in downtown Des Moines, where he attacked President Barack Obama instead of his Republican rivals.
About 100 people turned out to see the former Massachusetts governor at the Temple of Performing Arts,
the Des Moines Register said.
Obama “went on the ‘Today’ show shortly after being inaugurated, and said that if he’s not able to turn around the economy in three years, he’d be looking at a one-term proposition,” Romney said. “I’m here to collect.”
Romney was scheduled to do several national news interviews during the day before awaiting the Iowa caucuses results at a party Tuesday night at the Hotel Fort Des Moines.
