The Rehden gas storage facility in northern Germany is being filled as from May 5 to help Germany build up supplies, the state-appointed trustee of Gazprom Germania which owns it, told Reuters.
"From today, small volumes are being injected. We are working intensively on solutions to ensure that already soon significantly more gas can flow into the storage facility," Egbert Laege, the trustee who was appointed last month by the German energy regulator to manage the company temporarily, said in an interview.
Rehden can hold 4 billion cubic meters of gas but received only sparse quantities last winter.
