Olbermann Feuds with Current TV

By    |   Friday, 06 January 2012 01:38 PM EST

Keith Olbermann is dismissing reports that he is in hot water with top execs at Current TV over his refusal to anchor the network’s coverage of the Iowa caucuses, reports The Wrap.

Several media reports said both the newsman and the network had been consulting their lawyers about what rights he has under his five-year contract.

“I hope Keith is part of our future, but it’s up to Keith,” a Current executive who didn’t want to be named told TheWrap. "Keith set us in the right direction and we’re on that path now . . . and as I’ve learned over the years, everybody is replaceable.”

Olbermann took to Twitter yesterday to deny that he was on his way out at Current.

"1) Nothing makes me laugh more than reading about myself,” he said in one tweet.

When one Twitter follower pointed out a link to a New York Times story on the supposed rift, Olbermann responded: “And the reason you assume the article is not poorly-reported pap?”

Olbermann has run into trouble with employers in the past. He left MSNBC after eight years as host of the network’s “Countdown” and had contentious partings with ESPN and Fox Sports Net.
