By    |   Tuesday, 16 June 2009 11:52 AM EDT

It’s not just the federal budget that’s in trouble. State budgets are too.

State budget deficits will eventually add up to more than $281 billion, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures’ latest report.

3. Alaska $1.35 billion 30 percent

4. Arizona $3.0 billion 28.2 percent

5. Florida $6.0 billion 27 percent

6. California $24.79 billion 22.3 percent
