The number of U.S. job openings declined in December to 5.81 million from an upwardly revised 5.98 million a month earlier, according to the Labor Department’s Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey, or JOLTS, on Tuesday.
The median forecast in a Bloomberg survey of economists called for 5.96 million after a previously reported 5.88 million in November.
